Dumfries and Galloway is a predominantly rural county in South West Scotland. Care and Support Services is part of the Directorate DGFirst within Dumfries and Galloway Council. Care and Support Services employs 408 Care Workers delivering around 15,000 homecare visit per week to 855 Service Users. The region is divided into three areas with offices in Stranraer, Castle Douglas, Lockerbie and Dumfries. A total of 17 teams work out of these offices. Read article
London Borough of Merton (LBM) provides care services to approximately 1019 Service Users. This care is delivered through 10 external providers, mainly on block contract, with some spot. The largest of these providers carry out up to 200 visits per day. Read article

Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead introduced CM2000’s CallConfirmLive! Electronic Monitoring solution to it’s five external block providers during October 2006 and to the in-house service during January 2007. Read article

Wakefield MDC Home Care Service employs 81 management staff and 550 carers, with its in-house service carrying out 15,350 visits per week. The service is currently being reconfigured in order to establish a 50/50% split between in-house and external delivery.Read article
Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council introduced CallConfirm for use in their in-house home care service in August 2003. With an annual budget of £7 million, accounting for 40% of the domiciliary market, it has been a crucial element in their drive to modernise the service and successfully manage the 12,000 visits to service users provided every week. John McGinley, Group Manager in Older People Care Services has been in charge of home care at London Borough of Waltham Forest for five and a half years and manages both internal service provision and the commissioning of contracts with Private Home Care Providers. Read article
Hertfordshire County Council spends around £26 million a year on home care providing 45,000 visits a week to around 6,000 clients through 49 approved private home care providers. As a part of their contract with the County Council most private home care providers are required to have an electronic monitoring system in place. Read article
