Annual Carers week aims to highlight the many challenges faced
by Care Workers. This year's Carers Week theme is "The true face of
Carers". The campaign will seek to discover what life is really
like for Carers in 2011 and aims to remind everybody that caring is
a tough responsibility.
The Government publication, "A Vision for Adult Social Care:
Capable Communities and Active Citizens" (Nov 2010) states: "Carers
are the first line of prevention. Their support often stops
problems from escalating to the point where more intensive packages
become necessary."
