London Borough of Havering celebrates the launch of Royal Jubilee Court
Published on 23 July 2009

On the 17th July, the London Borough of Havering gathered to celebrate the opening of Royal Jubilee Court in Romford, an extracare housing scheme set up to service reablement. The scheme facilitates the transition from hospital back into home life and draws on the skills of occupational therapists and care workers.

The Deputy Mayor of Havering, along with Councillor Steven Kelly, and Joe Coogan, Havering's Assistant Director of Transformation gathered with staff and friends of Royal Jubilee Court to help celebrate the day. Joe Coogan said: "The people in this room have put Havering on the map. I'm proud to be a part of it".

As part of its on-going operations, Royal Jubilee Court has implemented CM2000's RFID 'Touch and Go' solution. The solution, designed specifically for extracare housing schemes utilises an RFID tag and a NFC enabled mobile phone. On entering and leaving the residents room or flat the care worker passes the mobile phone over the tag to automatically record the date, time and duration of attendance.  The solution is helping Royal Jubilee Court to monitor contact time with patients and aids health and safety.
