London Borough of Havering wins IT Innovator Award 2009
Published on 11 June 2009

On the 6th of June London Borough of Havering were presented with the prestigious Ceretas IT Innovator Award 2009.

By working with software partners PCCL and CM2000, and using Visa Card settlement from Royal Bank of Scotland, Havering have introduced a unique 'end-to-end' solution that will revolutionise how domiciliary care is provided, managed, and paid for.

At the core of the new system is CM2000's tried and tested scheduling and monitoring solution CallConfirmLive! The key benefit areas of the solution are:-

  • Care managers are freed up from the old process including payment queries.
  • Care managers can confirm that the delivery of care matches the care commissioned.
  • Care managers receive detailed but useful management information on care delivered.
  • Care providers receive cleared funds very quickly.
  • Council ledgers are automatically updated with transactional information; with a "management by exception" approach ensuring valuable staff time is only used where an automatic updating of ledgers has not been possible.

Havering are now introducing CM2000's RFID based 'Touch and GO' monitoring system, making the solution available to even more Service Users across the borough.

Havering is sharing this unique solution with other councils and with the budgetary savings from implementing this system estimated at between 5%-10% it is likely to prove popular.
