Reablement Services choose leading mobile workforce monitoring solution

Care Monitoring 2000, the UK’s pioneer of specialist monitoring technology for the care sector, has identified an increase in reablement services choosing mobile-based monitoring solutions.

Mark Thomas, Managing Director says “over half of the reablement services we are working with across the UK have chosen our RFID mobile visit monitoring solution. Not only does this technology make it very easy to log in and out of visits, giving real-time care delivery data, but it also significantly improves communication between office staff and community-based care staff.” 

Sirona Care & Health is responsible for the delivery of the community healthcare and adult social care services previously provided by Bath and North East Somerset PCT and Council. They started using RFID mobile monitoring back in 2013.

Dawn Cronin, Service Support Manager, explains “The needs of people using our reablement service can change on a day to day basis so being able to update Care Workers in real time has helped improve the efficiency of the service. Office staff no longer have to spend time phoning around to update schedules and visit requirements.”  

Care Workers receive schedule updates, and lists of tasks to undertake, direct to their mobile phone. This saves everybody time and ensures the right service is delivered at the right time. Care Workers can also use their phone to record observations which are updated directly onto the Service User’s record.

In addition to helping manage late and missed calls, CallConfirmLive! gives valuable data on the length of visits. Sirona review visits that are longer or shorter than planned to see whether care needs have changed and use management information from the system to help measure Service User’s improvements.

Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council’s Reablement Service have also noticed the difference mobile monitoring technology makes. Kath Lindley, Registered Manager Home Service says “Real-time communication empowers Care Workers and allows them to directly feedback changes to Service Users’ needs in a way that wasn’t possible before.”

Mark Thomas concludes “The aim of reablement services is to increase skills and independence of individuals. This means their care needs are constantly changing. A mobile monitoring system gives maximum flexibility as Care Workers arrive at each visit with the most up-to-date information allowing care to be relevant and person-centered.”
